Tonight on ABC, it’s the series finale of Anne Heche’s two-season wonder Men in Trees, at 10p/9c. “Taking the Lead” serves as a makeshift ending for the show, which was on the bubble going into this year’s upfronts and can likely be considered another victim of this year’s notorious writers strike. The show developed a loyal following, but apparently ratings weren’t good enough to satisfy ABC, which has been burning off the final few episodes outside the regular TV season.
