Reports are swirling that Elizabeth Perkins, who plays Nancy’s foil Celia, is departing the series for the world of feature films.Though the show has struggled in recent seasons to find a role for the character amid the constantly shifting storyscape, it will be tough to see her go. Most of the articles about her departure indicate that she won’t be around for season six, which premieres in August. But given that the show has been back in production for several weeks, I wouldn’t rule out her appearance in a few episodes to bring some resolution to her character. As season five concluded, Celia had assembled her own drug distribution team, which included many members of Celia’s family as well as Nancy’s former associates.
