REALITY | ‘Kid Nation’ under fire again

In CBS, Reality TV on August 18, 2007 at 1:32 am

CBS’ upcoming reality show Kid Nation won’t even air for another month, but it’s already taking heat, especially from the media, which questioned the legality of the show at last month’s press tour.

Now the show is under scrutiny again for what one parent, whose child was burned with grease while cooking, claims were neglectful conditions. The new series, which challenges 40 kids to create their own community in an abandoned New Mexico town, maintains that it did nothing wrong during its production.

I’m still taking a wait-and-see approach to Nation, though I’m not ever confident that any network or show is presenting us with the whole reality, just the most entertaining one. The series premiere is scheduled for Sept. 19 on CBS.
