ROSS TO ‘EARLY SHOW’ | Shelley Ross, the woman who turned Good Morning America around in the late ’90s, will now try her hand at morning show success for CBS, long the also-ran in the morning show ratings. These rumors have been brewing for awhile, and an official announcement has yet to be made. But surely Ross will be on board by the time it becomes mandatory for CBS affiliates (like WHNT Huntsville) to carry the two-hour broadcast in its entirety, beginning in January 2008.

GMA EXPANDS WEB PRESENCE | Today, ABC News launched a third hour of its morning show, dubbed Good Morning America Now, on its broadband channel, ABC News Now. The hour, hosted by Chris Cuomo, is part of the network’s efforts to exploit new platforms for its programs. Clips from the show are available on the ABC News site.

MEANWHILE, AT ‘TODAY’ | NBC’s morning franchise prepares to expand to a fourth hour beginning this Monday, Sept. 10.
