FALL ’07 | Local station preview: WAMY

Our Huntsville fall preview concludes with WAMY, the digital, cable, and satellite My Network TV affiliate in the market (all times Central).

WAMY is operated by the local Fox affiliate, WZDX, and the two outlets have a program-sharing arrangement. The WAMY schedule relies heavily on sitcoms in daytime.

  • The block begins with George Lopez at 7:30 a.m. An hour of Roseanne follows at 8; then, it’s two episodes of The Cosby Show at 9 and another George Lopez at 10. Bernie Mac follows at 10:30 before Half & Half at 11 and According to Jim at 11:30. Back-to-back episodes of Still Standing fill the noon hour, and an episode of Scrubs rounds out the comedy block at 1 p.m.
  • The new game show Temptation airs weekday afternoons at 2 p.m. Divorce Court follows at 2:30.
  • Then, it’s the afternoon talk block on My WAMY. Tyra, Jerry Springer, and Maury, run at 3, 4, and 5.
  • At 6, it’s an hour of classic animation before primetime. King of the Hill leads into The Simpsons at 6:30.
  • Following My Network TV’s primetime schedule at 9 p.m. is the new TMZ TV. The reality/justice lineup also includes Cops at 9:30 and Reno 911 at 10.
  • The days end as they begin for WAMY: with comedy. Back-to-back episodes of South Park begin at 10:30 p.m. each night. Malcolm in the Middle follows at 11:30. Another episode of Scrubs runs at midnight, before two episodes of Frasier at 12:30 and 1 a.m. The night ends with Seinfeld at 1:30.
