IDOL VIRGIN | Top 12 revealed

In Idol Virgin on March 12, 2010 at 10:33 am

America has spoken, and they have some interesting ideas about who might be their next American Idol.

Katelyn Epperly I could see. She had a bad week, and she was never going all the way. But neither are Katie or Paige, or probably Didi.

Lilly Scott could have a great future in coffee shops or touring smaller venues, because she has a clearly defined offbeat style. I’d say her target demo and Idol‘s barely overlap, if at all, and I wasn’t personally a fan, but she’s more talented than the middle-of-the-pack girls who were put through.

Todrick Hall was a semi-surprise, but this is also someone who will be fine without Idol and can return to his stage roots.

The real “Trouble” was the surprise elimination of Alex Lambert, and I’m going to blame it on the mullet. Andrew Garcia honestly had no business advancing, but what about Tim Urban? He is skating by on the tween crush factor, and you could argue that Casey is as well, but at least Casey has some talent to back it up.

I’m torn going into next week. On the plus side, we’re finally down to two nights a week. And I am enthused to see the show on a bigger stage. But these theme weeks seem potentially awful; we’ll see how that goes during Rolling Stones Week. You’ve put Andrew in a bind, America, because the Stones are guys, so what is he supposed to sing?
